Workshops
Workshops are aimed at developing key educators across the nation who wish to incorporate a deep understanding of Japan studies into their courses and curriculum.
Summer Institute
A three-week long workshop has been offered each summer since 1987. Faculty, administrators, and librarians from two-year and four‑year colleges and universities live together in the same campus complex to study diverse aspects of Japan and participate in cultural demonstrations. These participants are novices in the Japan field and aim to incorporate Japan studies into their curricula or courses at their home campus or outreach programs after graduation from the Summer Institute.

Advanced Faculty Development Institute
For JSA members who have gone above and beyond both the summer institute and the intermediate institute.
