We are particularly interested in articles related to the Hokkaido workshop, though all topics related to Japan studies will be considered.
Since we are a multidisciplinary journal, manuscripts may use whatever citation system is common in your discipline. Please understand that citation, style, and other changes may be requested of any articles accepted after peer review.
About the Journal
Launched in 1997, the Japan Studies Association Journal is a juried professional journal, published annually. Available online, it is produced by the American Japan Studies Association to promote comparative study of Japan, especially within east-west, inter-Asian, cross-cultural and interdisciplinary frameworks. The original, well-considered and engaging research, translations and pedagogical reflections which appear in the Journal are of interest to specialists, emerging Japan scholars and non-specialists alike. Each volume offers also English-language reviews of recent books, films, performances or exhibitions.
