In an essay, not to exceed 300 words, explain why you wish to participate in this workshop on Japan and how you will use this information in your courses. If you are an administrator, how will you incorporate this information into your college curriculum? This essay should be sent by email to overton@hawaii.edu. Include the application form (as a Word document) and a copy of your Curriculum Vitae with your essay.

Each application must include a letter of recommendation from your Dean or higher academic official indicating your qualifications and how the school will support the incorporation of Japan Studies into the college curriculum. This letter of recommendation should be sent by email to Dr. Joseph Overton; overton@hawaii.edu

In addition, each institution is required to pay a Program Fee of $650 if their candidate is selected to participate in the workshop.

The deadline for receiving completed applications has been extended: it is now April 1st, 2015.
