    Japan Studies Association
    Freeman Workshop for Infusing Japanese Studies
    in the Undergraduate Curriculum

    Workshop dates: May 22 -- June 10, 2016

    The complete application, including your CV and letter of recommendation, must be submitted electronically by April 11th, 2016. Do not send it by regular mail.



    Part A: Applicant Information

    Part B: Essay

    In an essay not exceeding 300 words,
    1) explain why you wish to participate in the Freeman workshop on Japan; and
    2) outline how you’ll use the information acquired in it in your courses; and


    If you are an administrator, how will you incorporate this information into your college curriculum?

    Part C: Curriculum Vitae

    Please attach a brief CV (2-4 pages).

    Part D: Letter of Recommendation

    Each application must include a letter of recommendation from the Applicant's Dean or higher academic official indicating Applicant's qualifications and how the School will support the incorporation of Japan Studies into the undergraduate curriculum. This letter of recommendation should be sent by email to Dr. Joseph Overton; overton@hawaii.edu

    Part E: Program Fee

    Each institution or individual is required to pay a Program Fee of $650, if their candidate is selected to participate in the workshop. This registration payment will be due on or before May 2nd, 2016.  Payment instructions will be sent to the participants with successful applications.



    The complete application, including your CV and letter of recommendation, must be submitted electronically by April 11th, 2016.
