Workshop on Okinawa: Identity, History and Culture
June 9-18, 2017

Workshop participants are responsible for their roundtrip airfare to Naha, Okinawa, for their transportation to and from Naha airport and some meals. Please make suitable travel arrangements so that you arrive in Naha no later than Friday, June 9, 2017 and leave no earlier than Sunday, 18 June.

Workshop participants are also responsible for a registration fee of $850. This includes double-occupancy accommodation, local transportation, speakers, and museum entry fees.

  • A non-refundable deposit of $100 made by April 7, 2017, will secure a participant's place in the Workshop.
  • The remaining $750 must be paid by April 30, 2017.
  • It is also possible to make one payment of $850 by April 7, 2017.
  • One does not need to have a PayPal account to make a payment. A major credit card is all that is required.
  • If an institutional pay card must be used, please make sure to include the participant's name and institution, so we can pair them with the amount received.
  • If a participant or their institution must pay by check, please contact Prof. Stacia Bensyl, JSA’s Treasurer, ahead of time to make the necessary arrangements. The same applies if one encounters a serious obstacle in meeting either of the payment deadlines.

A limited number of single occupancy rooms might be available for Workshop participants for additional $300. This depends on the final number of participants and conditions at the hotel/s. We regret that we cannot offer guarantees. Please e-mail the Workshop directors to make your preference known but do not pay for single occupancy until we can confirm that it is available.
